AESTHETIC LILY

Consider the lilies.

Aesthetic Lily carries the innate refinement of milk-white lilies on stately green stems - a flower worshipped by Oscar Wilde and the Cult of Beauty.

This lily is transfigured through a coupling of the creative and technical. At its core, the 'Living Easter Lily' infusion - a molecular snapshot of the perfume-filled air surrounding a single lily in bloom- embellished with spicy ginger and Egyptian jasmine on fine, carved mahogany.

Created with the assistance of Living Headspace Technology, Aesthetic Lily pays homage to Irish writer Oscar Wilde who, at the fin de siècle, became the unofficial spokesman for the Aesthetic Movement. With Whistler, Morris, and Rossetti among its glittering cast of artists and designers, it was a bold declaration against Victorian moralism and mass-produced materialism of the Industrial Age. Aesthetes, instead, emphasized the pursuit of beauty for its own sake by way of decorative art and as a means of living through the senses. 

The aesthetic movement found expression in 'The Cult of Beauty' through worshiping its emblems: the sunflower, the peacock feather, and the lily.

Evoking the unique olfactory atmosphere of the 'Old Library.'

Under the vaulted ceiling, wax-polished bookshelves hold row upon row of leather-bound books punctuated by marble busts of philosophers, writers, and members of Ireland's literary and scholarly elite.

Inspired by the Long Room in the library of Trinity College Dublin, Antique Library is a richly polished fragrance. Incense, spicy nutmeg, and leather lounge on a base of ancient cedar and beeswax in our tribute to this historic library.

ARMARIUS

Behind silent monastery walls, candlelight illuminates iron-gall capitals traced onto stretched vellum. Scribe-drawn knotted strokes of beasts, birds & serpent’s tails fly out towards the margins.

Armarius evokes the medieval Irish scriptorium. Scented with an enfold of amber and thurible smoke carrying nibs of ink onto gilded scrolls.

AUTOGRAPH TREE

A tribute to the deep roots of Ireland's literary heritage.

Autograph Tree takes its name from the magnificent copper beech tree in the walled garden of Coole Park on which the faded initials of Lady Gregory, W. B. Yeats, George Bernard Shaw, Sean O'Casey, and J. M. Synge are found.

Autograph Tree is burnished with the scent of the carved bark of blonde wood entwined with oud, exotic spices, and a puff of sacred incense.

ÉTAÍN

A flutter of a butterfly's wings

It was inspired by a legendary Irish love story that spanned a thousand years. Étaín is an enchanting flutter of fleshy tuberose and jasmine petals set against the woody gloam of cedar and patchouli.

FIG TREE

Inspired by local folklore surrounding a fig tree that grows partially submerged in Galway's famous River Corrib.

This fig tree is bound to the ancient Franciscan Abbey that sits on a nearby riverbank. Legend has it that a Franciscan friar brought the seed back to Ireland from Bethlehem after serving on a mission as a 'Custos' for the Holy Land.

Its survival is now thought to be a 'botanical miracle.' Fig Tree has delicate floral notes laced with a hint of plummy sweetness. Blonde woods with golden amber tones evoke fig tree bark.

NOBLE MYRRH (Christmas Season Only)

A medieval tower stands amid a snowy evergreen forest.

Noble Myrrh takes its name from the legendary resin that was caravanned on epic journeys across the ancient incense route from Ethiopia, Somalia, and southern Arabia to the Ancient Empires. According to Christmas tradition, the magus Balthazar traveled on this route too. Guided by a bright star, the Arabian King carried Myrrh to Bethlehem on Christmas Day.

In Noble Myrrh, the intensely warm and comforting Myrrh is artfully blended with a crackle of spicy cinnamon and cumin. Delicate threads of saffron are woven through a billowing oriental base of sandalwood, cedar leaf, patchouli, labdanum, and vanilla.
